Christians – a different attitude?

Christians knit 30m rainbow scarf in honour of Norwich Pride

Following a marathon effort by people across Norfolk, UK, including church groups and individuals, a giant rainbow scarf was knitted in support of last weekend’s Norwich Pride.

Unveiled on the balcony of Norwich City Hall, it measured over thirty meters long.

The artist Helen Simpson Slapp, who’s idea the scarf is the brainchild of, said: “I wanted a way for people from all walks of life to be able to be part of Norwich Pride, the response has been absolutely amazing. I particularly asked churches to be involved and we have had knitting groups from all over the county busy making squares for the project”.

The scarf was carried from St. Gregory’s Church, in Pottergate to the city hall, where Councillor Jeremy Hooke made an address and the Rev Philip Young blessed the scarf.

When the scarf is removed from display it will be broken up into blankets and sold, with proceeds being given to charity.
